Higher Education

The Higher Education Working Group convenes both institutes of higher learning and industry partners to: 

  • Establish feedback loops that identify gaps in entry-level talent proficiency and ensure graduates are prepared to meet evolving workforce demands. 

  • Identify common hiring needs for entry-level cybersecurity roles and translate these into informed curriculum and "power skills" recommendations (e.g., communication, problem-solving, teamwork). 

  • Expand experiential learning opportunities by developing structured co-op, internship, externship, and capstone project pathways in partnership with industry. 

  • Align academic and industry expectations by clarifying differences in credentialing across institutions and standardizing conversations around desired skills, experience, and compensation.
