About Us
Building a cybersecurity workforce pipeline
in Pittsburgh
Southwestern Pennsylvania has more cybersecurity job openings than qualified cyber professionals to fill those positions.
CyberHubPGH seeks to close that gap by creating a vibrant ecosystem where employers, job seekers, educators and students come together to create a robust cyber workforce pipeline.
Through collaboration, this initiative aims to:
Give educators ways to coordinate with employers to ensure they’re teaching the topics and skills companies need
Provide employers with local, highly skilled and diverse job seekers to fill their openings
Help students — from K-12 to adults seeking to upskill — learn about the range of options for education and training, from bootcamp certificates to Ph.D.s.
Offer job seekers rewarding employment opportunities and clear pathways for career advancement
OUR MISSION AND VISION
Our Mission
We unite education and industry to build a seamless talent pipeline, from kindergarten to university to advanced career reskilling, fueling the region’s growing demand for cybersecurity expertise. By breaking down silos and eliminating duplication, we coordinate efforts, amplify impact, and position Pittsburgh as a national leader in cybersecurity workforce development.
Our Vision
A connected, inclusive cybersecurity ecosystem where training programs, employers, and job seekers work together to meet the region’s growing talent needs.
CyberHubPGH Strategic Partners
A special thank you to the Richard King Mellon Foundation for their generous support, funding Phase 1 and 2 of CyberHub PGH.
InnovatePGH
The InnovatePGH Partnership is a 501(c)3 university-driven public/private partnership that translates Pittsburgh’s significant technological strengths into an equitable growth strategy. Regional leaders established InnovatePGH in 2018 — responding to the “Capturing the next economy: Pittsburgh’s rise as a global innovation city” report — to create greater coordination of Pittsburgh’s high-growth entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Today, InnovatePGH plays a central role as Southwestern Pennsylvania builds what’s next at the intersection of advanced technologies and real-world applications.

Pitt Cyber
Based at the University of Pittsburgh, Pitt Cyber brings the breadth of one of the world’s leading public research universities to bear on critical questions of networks, data, and algorithms — focusing on the constantly evolving gaps among law, policy, and technology. Our researchers engage with policymakers and industry to meet current needs while developing insights to illuminate the future.
Pitt Cyber also strengthens an inclusive regional tech pipeline through youth cyber education and workforce development, including our partnership in CyberHubPGH and our free annual CyberCamp for high school students.

Allegheny Intermediate Unit
As a regional education services agency, the Allegheny Intermediate Unit provides essential support services to school districts, educators and students throughout Allegheny County. The AIU helps advance K-12 cybersecurity education and strengthen workforce readiness by:
Expanding access to cybersecurity and computer science education in K-12 schools
Supporting teacher training and curriculum development in emerging technology fields
Helping school districts and career and technical schools develop career pathways in cybersecurity
The AIU’s deep community roots and commitment to “serve every learner” make the agency an essential partner in advancing CyberHubPGH’s mission.

Pittsburgh Technology Council
